The Tower of London 1977

Madeleine Floyd grew up in Oxford.  She spent her childhood drawing and rearranging her Caran D’ache coloured pencils.  She has become one of Britain’s best loved artists and illustrators.

Madeleine studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London.  She went on to study fashion design before graduating from Camberwell College of Art and Design, London in Fine Art and Graphic Design.

Madeleine paints, illustrates, prints, writes, designs, licenses and exhibits her work around the world.  She works in watercolour, ink and oils and adapts to whatever medium feels appropriate to a particular project be it  words, pastels, felt tips or gouache.

Equally at home working as part of a team on large collaborative corporate commissions or working privately on her own exhibitions Madeleine’s creativity is far reaching and unrestricted.    She has produced best selling books, hand painted wedding cakes, designed Michelin starred restaurant branding and moved strangers to tears with her Fine Art.  More is to be done.

Madeleine now works in London from her studio.    She lives with her husband, son, two cats and one  red dog .
